I have an original IHC sales brochure for F-20. Belt speed is 2610 feet-per-minute from a 15-1/4 inch diameter pulley turning at 654 rpm. The brochure states 28 hp, but does not state the fuel. The Nebraska tests always used kerosene or distillate, so we can assume that. This brochure is from 1938. The "rated" belt hp is shown as 85% of maximum at 23.80 hp. Rated hp was always used as a guide to a reasonable load. Use of a bigger load than the "rated load" could result in overloading the tractor if the going got tough. An older brochure (no date, but I would guess about 1935, lists the pulley as 14" in diameter, and belt speed of 2395 feet per minute at 645 rpm. This brochure does not give horsepower but states that the "rated" belt horsepower will drive a 22-inch thresher. All rpms are at 1200 rpm full-load governed speed. When I was growing up on the farm in the 40s, we used both a 10-20 and an F-20 to operate our 22" thresher, and both tractors handled the load with no problems. There were bigger threshers. The older of these brochures puts a 28-inch thresher with the F-30.
