Well you can plastigauge the crank but it will tell you how much clearance you have say from 1 1/2 to 3 thousandths.If its so loose it doesnt register,its probly the wrong bearings for how the crank is ground,if it is.You really need to measure the crank with a micrometer if the plastigauge doesnt register,then a good parts store or machine shop should be able to tell you what bearings are needed,if its ground wrong,or whats maybe wrong.It might be that its just one journal so you should check all of them.By it having good pressure to start with,then getting low,it might be the cam bearings,or something else.
