i would say its the cam brgs that are worn.if it was worn or incorrect rod brgs. you would here it knocking, and it would not have run two years.to check rods and mains use the green plastigage for .001-.003 clearances.if it dont register red is for .002-.006 and blue is for.004-.009.rod clearance is.0015.
