I would look into you oil pump it is not hard to check it after you drop the oil pan. if you have an IT manual it will give you the spec's. if your father had it rebuilt with stock bearings and the crank was worn afew thousands that could be it too. I can get you .002 and .003 oversized bearings but you must careful if the crank is worn uneven , you will have problems. if you use plasic gauge be sure to cover the entire journal. the spec for oil clearance is .002 to.003.
