If I remember right it looks like it has a screwdriver slot cut across a small brass tube. The 'ears' on the tube break off.
If the idle wonders around, the bushing for the throttle shaft might be worn. Another place I've had trouble is the angled drilling that goes up to the slot by the throttle plate. The gasket that I just put in my SC carb did not have all the holes punched in the right place. That might be worth a look too.
