I'm a rookie with old tractors so sorry if this is a dumb question.I have a 1953 Super C I just bought, While I was at the IH case dealership in my town the mechanic there told me to only use a special IH oil. He said that the detergent in other oils could harm the valves. Of course its about $2.50 a quart, is there anything to this? My tractor has had what looks like a lot of touch painting on it over the years and I would like to either sand blast or bead blast it. I would love to know if anyone has had any problem with either one and what I should look out for. I noticed on The Reds H he restored it had a lot of rust on the seat and insturments and it looked great when he painted it. If not blasting how do you get them so clean. Thanks, Paul, who has a lot to learn.
