On a mag the small gear has one tooth that is shorter than the rest and the other gear has two marks on the face of the button, one for left hand rotation L and one for right R. You will want to line the Shorter tooth on the lower gear up with the tooth on the upper gear that the R on the button points to. That should get you taken care of, if not then your mag is different than any other mag I have ever had apart.
