If it is cylinder 2 and 3 then I doubt it is a manifold gasket problem. I would be more likely to believe it is a manifold gasket problem if it were cylinder 1 and 2 or 3 and 4. Cylinder 2 and 3 do not share a port like 1 and 2 or 3 and 4 would. Sounds like your valves are out of adjustment or you just plain have bad spark plugs or wires. If you plugs and wires are old, go ahead and change them and see if that helps. If you are getting fire at all cylinders and it is still missing on 2 and 3 then take the valve cover off and set the tappet gap to .014 hot. If you can not get it running good enough to warm it up the way it is, then set the gap to something like .017 cold and then start it. Let it run long enough to warm the engine (don't run it really hard or anything just yet). Once you get it warm take the valve cover back off and set the gap to .014. That should get you going. I have had the same thing happen on customers tractors before.
