BO, I have installed after market roadgears and overdrives, But it has been close to 40 years ago. There is a after market roadgear on ebay 230251851907 he is calling it a overdrive but it's not. Is this one like the one you have? The overdrives don't have a gear for the top shaft. A factory roadgear is inside the main transmission which will be a son of a gun to put in if that's what you have, There is a shaft that will have to be changed in there to get the gear to clear it. but if yours is a after market it bolts on the front of the trans. and if memory serves me you don't remove the big nut just mount your box after pulling off the bearing retainer covers, put the small gear on the double spline stub sleeve with the flange to the front of the tractor slide it on to the top stub spline of trans. next put your shift forks and shaft in. The big gear will mount on the yoke after the yoke is pushed through the front cover plate. Then push that assembly on to the main trans. shaft. Bolt the front cover on and you will need to cut the guard down that covers the u joint to make it fit. There should be a bracket that bolts to the top of the trans. to hold the roadgear lever up when its engaged. All of this can be done in about an hour. I hope this helps you a little, like I said I'm running on memory from over 40 years ago.
