Deutsch, Live refers to the PTO being operated independently of the main engine clutch. ie: when you push the clutch to stop forward motion of the tractor, the PTO still has power to it. Live hydraulics is the same idea. The old H's and M's with the belly pump only build hydraulic pressure with the clutch engauged; where the Cub, SA, C, ... were live pumps that ran directly off the engine. Stan(VA).
