I bolted the pressure plate down and then realized the clutch pressure plate has 3 small bolts holding the pressure off the clutch disc. Consequently, the clutch disc is loose inside and can rotate freely-even with the pressure plate bolts down tight.
I haven't rejoined it yet, but will in the morning. After getting it in place, I should be able to remove the 3 bolts to allow pressure on the disc. I presume it was set up to go back together this way. I imagine it will slide back together fairly easy without pressure on the disc. The 3 bolts will need to come out the bottom opening after it is together (clutch view opening).
