Mike, I agree with Haas; your shock may be bad, but I bet your problem is the spring. IH supplied seat springs for three different weights of operator. The top ring of the spring will have: 3 identifying notches for light weight operator. 4 identifying notches for medium weight operator or 5 identifying notches for heavy weight operator. It is a simple matter to remove your spring and count the notches. If you don't have the one for the heavy weight operator it will be too weak. (Even if you are light weight...I know. I am 180 lbs and I've replaced the springs on my C,H,M&300. No shocks were replaced.) I'm almost sure that all the replacement springs now are for the heavy weight operator...maybe no notches at all any more. Lot of rambling, hope this helps. John
