Just tell him you changed out the fluid for HyGard. I know he won't believe you if you say that mixing the oil won't hurt anything... Typical oil snob... doesn't know that as long as it's slippery, about the right thickness, and made of dinosaur juice, it really doesn't matter what color the bucket is.
Compared to the amount of oil in the transmission, what little you'll get out of the cylinder isn't going to "contaminate" either brand of tractor, even if the oils were not compatible.
