Are you sure everything is correctly wired? Do you have the positive and negitive cables hooked up on the right sides of the battery? If you have a 12 volt system, you need to have a 12 volt coil WITH A RESISTOR unless it has the enternal resistor in the coil. If this won't do it, put in a new coil.
