Use a jumper wire with allegators on both ends. Connect one end to the engine on clean metal (ground it). Start the tractor and run it at 1/2 throttle. Attach the other end of the jumper to the F terminal on the generator. This makes it charge full voltage. (you can leave it on that way for a half hour or more, so do not worry) Now look at the amp gauge, it should read a goodly charge rate (about 12 amps or so). If it does, the gen is good, and the regulator, or regulator ground is bad. (this assumes all connections are correct, and good/shiny bright) Armatures are at times faulty, but not often, and not two of them. I would ask that you start a new topic when this is checked. Generators are not common knowledge repair any more. JimN
