Yes there is stops you can put in there to dual them up on all 4 corners on the 2+2s.
The 7588 was not a 2+2. It was a full size 4 wheel drive along with the 7388 and 7788. They were to replace the 4386,4586 and the 4786.
The 7288 and the 7488 were the last 2+2's slated to be made. Only 16 of the 7488s were made before closing down the IH line in May of 85.
Weak spots on the 2+2 were the hinge point and drive line in the pivot. They were not heavy enough and woreout bad. That is the biggest down fall of the 2+2s.
