The correct police will never reach agreement on this. I have a 49 H, a 53 SMTA, and 53 SHII. The rods are different length,and right angle and loop.
I'm a short 5 10 inches, and didn't like the short rods, having to bend and squat, foot on the clutch, so I made up rods about 5 inches longer than OEM. Now nice and easy to grab that rod. Of course the SMTA has the nice lever.
