I am normally a green tractor peson, however I guy I work with is cleaning out his dads sheds and knows I like old tractors and implements has what I believe to be a Super MTA. I located the serial number plate but there was nothing on the tag except a number 66712S. Usually I thought the tag said farmall on it or the model of the tractor. In my limited Farmall research library if this is the serial number that would make this a 1954 model. There are no decals on the tractor but there is a lever on the left side of the tractor by the clutch pedal which makes me think this is at least a T/A tractor. It has part of aloader frame on it but no bucket. It has 2 sets of rear wheel weights and the sheet metal is average. It needs 2 front tires and I am not sure about the rear. It has the mud scrapers for the front tires. The tread is 80 percent matched but the tractor has been sitting since 1990, and the tires are up but it is sunk into the dirt, so I am not sure what I am getting into there. It was supposedly overhauled just before it was parked bucause his dad just got it back from the shop before he had his heart attack and it only bush hogged about 4 hours before it was parked. The radiator has been drained and the oil pan has no water in it but it smells like gas. They offered to give me the tractor just to get it out of the way, but I do not want to do that because this tractor has a value, and I value the friendship with my co-worker. Like I said I am a jd person and my thoughts were to make a reasonable offer on the tractor and then sell it or trade it for something green. They supposedly have the book for it in the house but are still going thru his dads papers. I am sorry about the long post but I had hoped som of you IH/Farmall guys goud give me some help here. The tractor is located in south central IL
