I had the same problem on a 986. I'd imagine they're similar. Ended up ordering a rubber seal from the dealer. looks like a 2-3" long piece of thick rubber hose. there are 3 different steering pumps with 2 different seals. so got to get the right one. got to keep everything real clean and get lots of little pieces back together right. the service manual helps a lot.
