first let me make sure I've got everything straight... sounds like your tractor has 2 remote valves, with one set of couplers in the rear, and two sets under the fuel tank- right and left side. If this is the case, the inside (left) lever controls the first (right) valve which operates BOTH the rear and the front left couplers. The outside (right) lever controls the second (left) valve which operates the front right couplers. Probably the easiest is to pull the tinwork under the seat, front and rear, and trace the plumbing. It's pretty self-evident.
As for your problem, can't help. Seems to me that running some hoses to the rear with quick couplers should work just fine. maybe got defective couplers? or is there a blockage in the hoses? If you don't need hydraulics up front, you could disconnect the banjo fittings at the valve and run hoses to the rear directly from there. Someone else might be able to tell you what thread you'll need to fit the valve.
