Don't assume the right side outlet has been used just because the couplers are there. IH put them on at the factory. Am second owner of a 504 with side outlets that still had the original dust covers. Poppets in the couplers are stuck TIGHT.
By the way the IH couplers are not identical with Pioneer couplers, Sometimes they will work and sometimes not. Remove the female couplers and check for flow when you pull the lever. HTH.
