The lower (spigot) end of the sleeve,is sealed with an "O" ring this will not seal well twice. (they can leak when old without influence. SO they will for sure leak. Clean the groove, clean the spigot, and use a full strength dish liquid detergent to "lube" them into place. If there is any ridge in the inside top of the sleeve, have them measured.
