Hi, I was wondering if any of you IH guys had a good source for M&W engine parts. I pulled my MTA apart yesterday and found that the tractor had M&W pistons in it. Some of the rings do not look that good. This tractor has set since 1988. It is 4 1/4 bore not 4 1/8th which from what I have been told by a few is that it is the same as a 400. The piston pin is the 1 inch pin. The part number on the bottom of the piston is AP77 and it is a step head piston. The top oil ring measures .94 thick and the middle two compression measure .96 and the oil ring measures .250. The pisons look good and at this point if I can just find rings I would like to hone the cyls a little put new rings in and roll a set of bearings in. The crank looks great and I will just need std brgs. I have a few people looking for parts right now but have not heard anything back yet. If I can't find rings at a reasonable cost I might just eng up putting new sleves and pistons in because std kits seem to be readily avail from howard and other sources. Any help is appreciated. This red tractor is still a little different to work on compared to the green ones I am used to but it is fun to get back out and work on something that all I need is std tools.

It is also very apparent that these folks are getting a lot of very poor and often very dangerous advice fro
