Not sure if your mechanic has half a clue or not, but I wouldn't judge him solely on overlooking the sleeve packing rings. Not something you'd reuse, but unless he does these frequently or has the books [even then easy to overlook] it is easy to forget about some of the gaskets and seals until you start putting it back together. Several items I never expected to be shot on that 22-36, we wound up ordering well after the top end gasket kit [no bottom kit for that; even using several vendors I'll need to be cutting a few gaskets, it sounds like they're not quite as popular of a project tractor as the 10-20].
I hadn't played much with these in about 10years, and it amazes me how I can forgot which parts can be stubborn - until I'm about ready to say some inappropriate words - then sometimes recall a trick or just persistance.
On the other hand; if he doesn't remember such things until AFTER it is put together..... :oops: :lol:
