While I'd say the heli-coil is slightly more convenient, the time-sert is definitly more rugged. Dont forget to oil the insertion tool though [noted in the instructions if you buy a kit - essentially need to the first time to have the right tool]; IIRC they like to get stuck on it and follow it back out.
