Some pieces of answers: The oil seal should be sufficient because it is thinner, it can be positioned such that it rides on a new place on the shaft. This prevents premature leakage. The seal must be driven squarely so that the lip runs in one spot. Use assembly lube on it to keep it from wearing on startup. The shaft might need to be polished where it touches. use 600 grit and polish around the shaft, not along it. The system should be pre charged with engine oil Either a drill type pump, or a pump oilcan can be used to push oil into the oil gallery through the poi pressure port. this can take some effort with a pump oilcan due to filling the filter, but it is cheap and effective. Make a rubber hose adapter to attach the oilcan to the threaded hole. Good luck, JimN
