I"ve had some great help from some on the board but I need a little more. I"ve set the timing using the rough method. Then I found the timing mark on the flywheel and lined it up with the pointer. I set the rotor to fire #1. Buttoned it up but still no spark at the plug. I then pulled the mag lead and set it next to the mag body and turned it over. Still no spark off of the mag lead. Then I pulled the ground wire off of the mag and tried it again. Still no spark.
So, first I"m curious if I"ve done these tests right? Second, if I"ve done it right, what do I look at next. I checked the points and they are at .13 and while they aren"t new they don"t look too bad. Any thoughts?
