You may want to start with a condenser first before replacing a $45.00 coil. There are a lot of little things that can go wrong with a H4 mag. But have you tryed a dif coil Wire? Is it a copper core wire not an auto type? Then like you said hold it about a 1/4" away from the brass nut that holds the kill wire and condenser in and give her a spin if no spark remove mag replace condenser. and retry. If you have an OHm meter I can some what tell you how to tell if your coil is dead or not first if you want. just email me at farmallmagneto@wmconnect.com
