May not be anything worn out. On the bottom of the governor housing is a cap nut sticking straight down. It covers the bumper spring adjustment. It may very well be that the bumper spring needs adjusting. It sounds that way to me anyhow. It would help if you have an IT shop manual. It will show you exactly how to adjust it. If not just run the stud in a little and try it. If it gets worse back it out a bit. When your idling comes back how you like it tighten the lock nuts and put the cap nut back on. If none of this helps something else is wrong. I would try this first as it costs nothing.
