I checked out my sickle bar mower and it definitely has the remnant of the pitman arm. The pulley at the rear (the driven pulley) is solid and has an o.d. of 5 inches so it must not be for a cub. I don't have the driver pulley that fits on the pto shaft. There are numbers "451399RI" on the round piece that drives the pitman arm. A litte further around this piece with the numbers is what I think is the IH symbol and then the letters LI. It appears as if the pitman arm drove a ball shaped piece that is cast into the mower. I would like to see a picture of one before I attempt to hook it up. I have looked for the pitman arm without success. Tractor Supply has a "universal" one but I have my doubts about how it would work. I would appreciate any further help or advice.

Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
