Nut may be screwed in all the way already though. Another thing I do sometimes if I have fan and parts off and nut notches are messed up, is grind a flat on 2 sides of packing nut to the size of a thin wrench I have. If tightening is needed I put wrench in between drive lugs and turn fan.
