I understand about the increased angle. That's why I've never used one. I use brakes and clutch and not had a problem.
Reversing the OR Clutch may prevent it from working if it only slips in one direction. Need to verify that first. Also I'm pretty sure the clutch needs to lock on both the male and female ends with some sort of pin.
