it is true X-1 means gas only but ( high compression ) there is no real way to tell other then parts on tractor that would give it away , for instance manifold , drain on carb, exta 1 gal. gas tank, the pistons are differant , valves are too in a all fuel engine , gas only didnt have shutters unless ordered that way , also temp gauge will have a mark that engine temp. had to be to switch over to junk fuel, extra hole in the hood for the 1 gal. can , even if you have all these things on your tractor odds are its been overhauled and changed over to a higher compression piston and wont run on junk fuel anymore, i restored my H to run on all - fuel so thats how i know the internal engine parts are differant, you do loose some horsepower doing so but it makes a nice show piece because most cant burn junk fuel anymore because everyone is looking for more power
