I just got a 2 Row Strip Tillage Implement. The largest tractor I have is a 686 with 15.5 38s. I was pretty sure the 686 would be a little shy on power, but the 966 I have borrowed hardly notices the load. So now I think the 686 has a fighting chance. I will need to up size the tires to at least 16.9s to get the implement out of the ground. From previous posts it seems like 16.9s are a good match on a 686 for power/traction, are 18.4s too much tire? What type of tire would be recommended for tillage, spraying and other all around chores?
