Got a call from my 14 year-old nephew tonight. He finally convinced his Grandfather to let him pull his Great-Grandfather's first tractor (an F-20) out of the barn where it has been stored for at least 40 years that I know of. Good news, its ALL there, the engine is free and it'll go into all gears, he says. Bad news-the radiator leaks like mad & it has no spark. Nephew says that Grandfather says the radiator is why it was parked, they couldn't find a radiator for it & the local radiator shop (then) said the tanks were shot & they needed a whole new one. That is probably right, nephew thinks. He wants to get a new one, or a good used one. Does anyone know if Rice has them? (He'd really like to go new & I don't think big $$$ will scare him, he's been raising his own cattle for a couple of years.) I'd like to try to keep something IH on this farm, as Dad & Grampa have gone over to the GREEN side. BTW, this is a 5th generation farm and it looks like the nephew will be the 6th generation on it. The "home quarter" never been out of the family since it was homesteaded. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)
