First, I am a Deere guy working on my Fathers H. This is the second block because the first one was total junk. Had to heat up the sleeves to get them out. Pulled the dry sleeves out, and the bores they go into clacked about 1.25 inches above the bottom of the bore. I am sick and tired of dealing with junk. Is this common for a dry sleeve engine to crack. Can I weld the bore, grind it down, and put a new sleeve in? Or just junk this block too??? Anyone have a running H engine around Milwaukee Wisconsin??? I need to have this running in about one month.
