Try moving the gear shift lever all the way to the right and push it forward. That is an open spot in the shift pattern and won't go into any gear but seems to act as a transmission brake. I do it all the time on my SC and it never clashes but I've never had a clash problem anyway with normal shifting. Hold full forward 2 or 3 seconds and see if that will work for you. Good luck, Hal.
