Ditto all that. Also...take whatever steps you can to keep water out of these things. Replace the rubber boots entering the brakes unless they look to be in nearly-new condition. Don't park it in the rain! After you've re-worked the brakes, find some way to seal up the hairline cracks where the assembly fits together. A good dose of paint with a brush will help! It's been my experience that these brakes work very well WHEN they work, but keeping them in that condition requires some agressive maintenance.
