To be sure things are OK, the Ignition switch on a mag is a Kill switch. There is only one wire attached, and the switch body is grounded. When the button is out, the switch is open, and the mag makes spark. When the switch is pushed in, it is closed, mag primary current goes to ground and the mag makes no spark. The tractor can be started by pulling, or cranking. Take the wires off of the Generator, and it will be fine. Removing the belt is even better (as noted below). JimN
