I had low oil pressure on my H. The gasket is a shim. The gears will always push up into the cover, wearing a track in the cover. The gears are heat treated and are much harder than the cast pump body. The pressure of the pump will push the gears into the cover face. To get pressure back, you need to reduce this head space. Also stone the top edges of the gears to remove burrs caused by the friction. A surface grinding job will work on the cover.
