A friend and I built my fuel line when I got my H running again. Now I want to build a line for my starter tank. I pulled the regular line and have found out that on either end we used a 5/16th brass "Breakaway nut". OSH carries them, but not in my size. I'll have to find out if they can order one. But no one else seems to even know what this thing is!
Does a Breakaway nut go by another name? Is there any other place other than a hardware store that carries one? I tried Kragen on the tip of the OSH guy (who said old Ford's used to use them), but the guy at Kragen had no idea.

Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
