Hey guys, I want to replace my hydraulic pump on my 300U with a new one I just bought. I have an I & T manual ,but that section just doesn`t seem complete to me.I don`t have the old pump off the 300 yet. Just wondering ,is there any tips or words of wisdom in doing this project? The one thing it don`t mention in the I&T manual is if there is a timing notch of some sort to line up the teeth from the pump gear to the cam gear. The manual says to turn engine over till #1 cyl. is on compression stroke and line up notch in crankshaft pulley with pointer on front cover, then remove distributor and then pump. Then for reassembly , it just says do the steps in reverse order. But ,like I said , no mention of lining up specific punched teeth to a specific punched notch. Seems to me it has to have that for proper timing?? I`m grateful for any and all advice. Thanks,Mark
