The valve will have a knob with two flat sides on the end of the valve. There is a roll pin in the knob that is indexed in a piece of tin There is a S for single and that is where it should be rotated. Do not use it part way, it will not work, and it will load the engine and over heat the hydraulics. The front or rear port can be plugged to prevent contamination. Whichever is connected to the cylinder will operate, but the lever will need to be pushed the opposite way to make it work. JimN
