Cams with right and left hand cam nut threads were used in a C281. More than one IH part number could be found on some cams, even though its the same use. If you can find a number ending with DA or DB its a cam like used in a 450. DB has left hand threads for the gear retaining nut, the rest have right hand threads. If its a aftermarket or a regrind the only way to tell is checking the lobes, unless they stamped there numbers on the cam. Valve timming was changed to gain a little more power over cams with the part # ending with the letter D. Don't know if its just me, but seems like the early cam uses less fuel.
