I was pulling a cultivator, ripping up some sod, when the tractor backfired and died. When I attempted to start it at different times, it cranks faster than before , but does not catch. On a car I would say the timing belt is gone, but I think this one has gears. Any suggestions to trouble shoot? I inherited it when I bought a small horse ranch in Woodstock, IL. Previous owner says the float on carburator gave him trouble before, could this be it? How would I check?
