I'm not very familiar with IH tractors beyond the letter series models. Been thinking of a vintage IH tractor with added versatility for use around the farm with more modern features and think that might be a good one. Is it a direct start diesel or a gas over like the MD's? Are they 540 or 1000 rpm IPTO's? Are they fast hitch or 3 point tractors? I've seen enough of them at shows but just never paid that much attention to them before now. I know about the problems with the transmissions and differentials on the early ones which IH replaced. Are there identification features which indicate if they have been retrofitted with the new components? Is there a serial number break for the factory change over versus field retros? They have a fair amount of power for anything I would be doing here in south central Missouri. Thanks for your responses, comments and information, Hal.
