I'm working on a Super W4 that hasn't run in years. The last time it was used, it suddenly went wide open beyond top governed speed. Long story shortened, I got it running but governor doesn't work. Can't find anything seized or broken. I bring in my H and pull the cover off the governor, unhooked the throttle rod so I can manipulate the throttle lever. Can see nothing different between the two governors. The next problem is that now my H governor isn't working properly. At half throttle position, it snaps from idle to full throttle and won't idle down again. I'm completely stumped. I didn't unhook anything besides the throttle rod from the hand lever. I didn't adjust anything. I just looked and checked components for freedom of movement Anyone have any idea what the heck I'm up against here?
