The 24" rims are removed from the cast wheel and the 26" rim replaces it. I have a friend with a W-4 who uses the 24" rim with industrial tyres on the road and 26" rims with agricultural tyres in the field. A lot of vintage plowing competitors here in NZ who work with W-4s use 11" tyres on 28" rims for the plowing, these 28" rims have a plate welded to the inside of the rim to enable the rims to be bolted to the standard W-4 wheels. The narrower tyres fit in the furrow, as they often use 11" or 12" plows here, and do not mark the back of the turned furrow
