I don't want to jump on Genes thread but when you look at the piston, have the rings installed on it and check the gap between the ring and ringland. I wouldn't think anything more then about.004 would be considered good. You don't want the piston rings bouncing up and down. As far as pistons, if you can get a step head piston, get them.
