Hello! Have not gotten a chance to tear into my 400 yet but the steering on it is very sloppy. It is going to be my work tractor so will not get a few restoration any time soon like my 300 and SH. On the SH I spent over $1000 replacing all the steering bushings, sleeves, bearings, and building the shafts back up. Dont really want to get through all that right now with the 400. It has a wide front and loader waiting to be put on. Power steering soon to come hopefully. Have heard of flipping the steering gear. Is that possible or very effective? Just looking for a few little tricks to get me by for a few years. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
